Help staff the labor movement! Volunteers are needed at the CLC office.

Don't Shop Safeway campaign:

Immediate goal: escalate the strike. Make it over everyone's healthcare. Picket at least weekly at a Safeway in every community. Expand weekly to hit all 15 Safeway stores simultaneously on the Central Coast before Jan 19, Martin Luther King Day.

Site Captains and other volunteers needed. In Santa Cruz area call Malcom Terence at 429-3942; in Salinas area Call Tony Acosta at 262-9278; in Monterey peninsula area call the CLC office at 633-1869.

Adopt A Store: working with other labor council volunteers, adopt one or more stores. Your organization would commit at least 3 or 4 people to participate at least once per week for at least three hours (usually Saturday 10-1), one person serving as store site captain or co-captain. Other strike support activity may be involved in the future. Phone 633-1869

March Elections: the Council has made progressive endorsements in key local races. Check out Political Action website to get involved.
